By the early 1970s, the band emerged as The Trammps with a lineup that featured lead vocalist Jimmy Ellis, drummer and bass singer Earl Young, Robert Upchurch and brothers Stanley and Harold "Doc" Wade. Among their many hits, the Trammps lit the world on fire with their 1976 smash hit, "Disco Inferno."
