Description

Sail Along Silvery Moon on CD

Billy Vaughn was the man who combined the lushness of the big bands with the energy of rock 'n' roll. In addition to being Pat Boone's music director and A&R man, Billy led his own studio orchestra that scored more than 25 hits over 12 years, and was the most popular big band of the Fifties. The six CDs in this box include all of Billy Vaughn's recordings from 1954 to early November 1958, including such unforgettable hits as Melody of Love, the Shifting Whispering Sands, Sail Along Silvery Moon, Raunchy, the Theme from the Threepenny Opera (Mack the Knife), When the White Lilacs Bloom Again, La Paloma, Cimarron, and Blue Hawaii, as well as all of the albums from this era, like 'Sweet Music And Memories', 'The Golden Instrumentals' and 'Instrumental Souvenirs'. Also included are 15 previously unissued performances, and a book incorporating a newly researched biography of this reclusive man and rare photos from the Vaughn family.
