Disco Gal on 7" Single

Maria Asahina, a multi-talented model turned singer whose mother is the singer Yukimura Izumi, is also known for singing the insert song in the 1982 animated film 'Arcadia of My Youth, ' based on the original manga by Matsumoto Reiji. She has released her debut single on a 7-inch analog record, which was released prior to her only album, 'MARIA' (1979/ALFA RECORDS/ALR-6016), released in 1979 on Alfa Records and featuring a host of other impressive guests including YMO's Hosono Haruomi, Sakamoto Ryuichi, Takahashi Yukihiro, Yamashita Tatsuro, Yoshida Minako, Matsutoya Masataka, Sugiyama Koichi, Harvey Mason, Matsubara Masaki, Parachute Kei, and others. [Original release date: April 25, 1979/ALFA RECORDS/ALR-1010] This

includes the disco song 'Disco Gal' with Tatsuro Yamashita (chorus) on chorus and vocal arrangement, and the disco song 'Kirisame no Ato de' arranged by Ryuichi Sakamoto (keyboard), arranged by Harvey Mason, a top LA fusion drummer who joined Lee Ritenour's Gentle Thoughts after playing with Herbie Hancock's prestigious band The Headhunters, and later released his own album 'STONE MASON' on Alpha Records in 1982.

Both songs are single versions with different mixes from the album versions.
