Alice emerged from the free-spirited, boundary-pushing energy of the late '60s, embodying the 'baba cool' hippie movement in France. As one of the earliest French prog rock bands, they blended European classical influences, South American folk, and psychedelic rock into a uniquely rich and adventurous sound. Signed to the unorthodox BYG Records, their 1970 debut remains a hidden gem of the era.

Featuring multi-instrumentalists Jean-Pierre Auffredo, Sylvain Duplant, Alain Weiss, Bruno Besse, and Alain Suzan, Alice crafted intricate soundscapes filled with woodwinds, strings, vibraphone, and layers of percussion.
